i have been strolling through more of these vibrant and colorful annual fares this year. this series is taken in nuremberg. next to the fare and always visible in the background is the still omnipresent kongresshalle. it is quite a relief to see these old buildings from the third reich counteracting with current subjects and themes that are completely unserious and unloaded. without forgetting past history this fare seems to provide a new democratic and very approachable context for this loaded place.

it still feels slightly bold to put such heterogeneous topics front and center. as always it is a lot of fun to discover some unexpected and surprising visual connections between the past and the present.
