whenever i come back to venice it is still continuing to surprise me, how different this city lives and works compared to almost any other settling in the world. as it is literary built on water, the slowness of all the ships and boats, the pedestrian scale and pace and the ultimate experience of how condensed a city can be, is so unique and a always relieving experience.

my favorite time of the year to go there are the more quiet months during autumn and winter. there are moments of solitude, of desolation, when the city feels like a sunken and almost forgotten ship, slowly crumbling in the most natural, but also the most magical way.
